On Thursday the teams of Hebar Pazardzhik and Berlin Recycling Volleys met and the Germans took an important win 0:3 (20-25, 16-25, 20-25).
It was the clash between the new dominating force in Bulgarian men’s volleyball and the reigning German champions since 2016.
The first set started off as a point-by-point game where the German team managed to get in the lead (4-8) and they managed to keep the advantage up until the middle of the set when the Bulgarian team equalized the set (14-14). RB Volleys managed to get back up with four kill blocks and secured the set with 20-25.
Berlin Recycling Volleys walked into the second set with the winning mentality, but Hebar Pazardzhik did as well. The Bulgarians were fighting hard against the strong Germans but in the end, Hebar couldn’t get in the right rhythm and the Germans easily won the set 16-25.
With three aces on each side, the third set brought a lot of excitement but was once again won by the Germans which was enough for their win. Even though the set started off as a cat-and-mouse type of play, Berlin Recycling Volleys managed to separate from the Bulgarians and even had eight points of advantage at one point (14-22) and closed the match with 20-25.
The MVP of the match is Marek Sotola from Berlin Recycling Volleys with 16 winning spikes, 64 spike %, and 20 points.
