- SWD powervolleys participate in a CEV-tournament for the 13th time. Their last appearance in the CEV Champions League Volley dates back to January of 2007.
- Legend Björn Andrae (41) will be available for the first time in the 2022/23 campaign. The long time captain of the German national team is recovering from a knee injury and will be in the lineup against Ankara as second libero.
- Both, Düren and Ankara, have won five games in a row in their home countries. Düren coach Rafał Murczkiewicz: "One of those two streaks will come to an end. I'm looking forward to an exciting match. "
- The SWD powervolleys Düren are looking forward to welcome many spectators of Turkish offspring. Düren is a city with a big Turkish community.
- Düren captain Michael Andrei is one of eleven players on the team that will see action in the CEV Champions League Volley for the first time. For Andrei, it is a late honour at the age of 37 years.
