ŁKS Commercecon ŁÓDŹ v Allianz MTV STUTTGART

Article

ŁKS Commercecon ŁÓDŹ and Allianz MTV STUTTGART came back to the Champions League after a one-year absence. The clash between these two teams was the Super Match of the Week. The Polish and German teams are no strangers to each other, as already in the 2020 edition they competed in the same pool. However, ŁKS who enjoyed a perfect start to their domestic campaign, were powerless facing the team from Stuttgart.

The visiting team from the beginning of the match was the leading side, earning a three-point advantage, keeping the score safe during the entire set. Even if, in the decisive part, the hosts, sparked by the local fans, started to chase the score, it was already too late. Krystal Rivers outstood with her performance, impressing with strong attacks.

The other player behind the success of Stuttgart was Britt Bongaerts. The Dutch playmaker of the German team led a well-balanced game against her former club. In the second set, Allianz MTV Stuttgart completely demolished their rivals, winning points in impressive five- and four-points streaks to quickly triumph also in the second set.

Having their backs against the wall, ŁKS Commercecon kept the pace with Stuttgart during most of the third part, but from 18-17, the visiting side powered by Rivers prevailed and earned a well-deserved win. River, who scored unbelievable 23 points, was honoured with the MVP award.
