• Stuttgart sits currently on top of Pool D after beating Lodz at Poland 3:0 and surprisingly overcame Fenerbahce 3:2 at home and dominantly beating Tenerife 3:0 away.

• The last league game was successful but hard fought 3:1 win at Suhl.

• Allianz MTV Stuttgart is the league leader in Germany after retaking first position just before the new year.


• Stuttgart is in the middle of a big week with four games within just eight days and a lot of travelling.

Fenerbahçe Opet Women's Volleyball Team faced German representative Allianz MTV Stuttgart in the 4th match of 2023 CEV Champions League Group D. Having finished their sets ahead 25-20, 22-25, 25-18, 25-16, the Yellow Angels won the match 3-1 and increased their score to 7.

Arina Fedorovtseva, who scored 25 points, was named the MVP of the match. Melissa Vargas, played 8 points in the match. Also Eda Erdem Dündar contributed significantly to the victory with 10 points, and made her debut this season. The new transfer Hristana Vuchkova played her first match in Fenerbahçe jersey.

The starting six were Eda Erdem Dündar, Arina Fedorovtseva, Melissa Vargas, Hristina Vuchkova, Buse Ünal, Meliha Diken six, and then libero Gizem Örge.

In the first set, which was balanced, The Turkish team increased the gap to 2 points with Vargas' attacks and gave the opponent a timeout: 13-11. In the last part of the match, where the score was equalized again after the time-out, Fenerbahçe took the lead with the points of Eda and Vargas and won the set 25-20.

Fenerbahce Opet won the third set 25-18 with the important contribution of Lazareva in the attack and Buse in the defense, on the return of the break.

Starting the fourth set well in offense, the Yellow Angels gave their opponent a timeout when the score was 8-4. Maintaining its effective offensive performance after the break, Fenerbahçe won the set 25-16 and the match 3-1.
