- VakifBank Istanbul advanced to the play-offs as the 2nd best team. In Group C, the Turkish team won 4 matches. In turn, ŁKSCommercecon Łódź in group D won 3 matches and advanced to the next part of the competition as the best team from the 3rd place.


- VakifBank will visit Łódź once again, in February 2021 it played at Łódź Sport Arena in the Champions League group stage tournament.

- Both teams have players from Italy on the attack - Valentina Diouf from ŁKS Commercecon will play against Paola Egonu from VakifBank.


- ŁKS Commercecon Łódź will have to play without their top middle-blocker - Klaudia Alagierska-Szczepaniak, who tore her cruciate ligament in the last match of the group stage and had to undergo surgery.

- Last Sunday, ŁKS Commercecon Łódź won the league match against #VolleyWrocław 3:1 and remains the only undefeated team in the Polish league. In turn, VakifBank Istanbul, after a huge tragedy, which was the earthquake in Turkey, currently competes only in European cups.

"We need to cancel league match now. It was important, but we need to focus at the Champions League match, wchich will be very important. I believe that we have a chance to win, so we need to work hard to fix all the things that we need to win this match".

On the second day of playoffs in the #CLVolleyW, the team of VakifBank ISTANBUL made a huge step into going to the quarterfinals. They won 0:3 (22-25, 12-25, 24-26) over the Polish team of ŁKS Commercecon ŁÓDŹ.

In the first set, VakifBank was quite equal to ŁKS ŁÓDŹ (7-7) but the Turkish team soon managed to separate and already had five points of the advantage (7-12). With six killer blocks in this set, VakifBank was truly unstoppable and they were always in the lead. However, the Polish team managed to cut back the advantage to 22-25 and finished the set with only three points behind.

The second set was definitely not something that the home team was expecting. VakifBank already had five points of advantage in the early start (0-5). ŁKS ŁÓDŹ was trying to get back up but it was not easy for them and they were always behind by four or five points. After that, it only got worse for them as VakifBank ran off to ten points of lead (10-10). In the end, they closed the set with 13 points of advantage (12-25).

And then came on the third and the last set which was truly a thriller! It began as a point-by-point set but soon enough VakifBank managed to separate and get to the five points of the advantage (4-9). Turkish team was showing off all of their strength in this set with seven killer blocks and they’ve been trying to stop ŁKS ŁÓDŹ at all costs. And it seemed like this will be another easy win in this match for VakifBank but at the very end of this set, ŁKS ŁÓDŹ managed to equalize everything and were in a place where they could have taken this set from the Istanbul (21-21). In the thrilling ending, VakifBank Istanbul won by 24-26 and with that won the whole match.
