Overview

The hosts of the second round-robin tournament in Pool D, Leo Shoes MODENA are the unbeaten leader of the standings with only one point dropped, so far (against Knack Roeselare). Kuzbass KEMEROVO, who in their rookie 2019/2020 #CLVolleyM season reached the semisinals, are currently ranked 3rd in the pool after losing to Modena and Verva Warszawa, but we can expect that they will do their best to repeat this feat, especially having Italian star Ivan Zaytsev on their board. Back, in December he was the best scorer in the game against MODENA - his previous club - that ended 3-1 for the Italians. MODENA could count on great teamwork of Daniele Lavia, Luca Vettori, Daniele Mazzone and Nemanja Petric.

Three teams hopeful of challenging Leo Shoes’ supremacy in Pool D

"Tonight we played an incredible match. This result against Kemerovo is important for us because if tomorrow we win against Warszawa we'll be qualified to the quarterfinals. What are my thoughts about the match? I think the most important thing is that tonight we showed a good volleyball, we played very well, we are still unbeaten and I'm proud of my team."

Andrea Giani
head coach of Leo Shoes Modena

"I think that today Modena taught us a lesson on how we need to play volleyball in the future. The games against Italian teams showed us that we need to improve a lot. The speed Italian setters and spikers usually play with; the style of their game is a bit much for us. For example, we’re always 1 second late to react to their set, attack or a serve. We need to analyze this situation, we need to improve a lot…and I think we need to work on that to become better."

Alexey Verbov
head coach of Kuzbass Kemerovo
