    Lokomotiv victorious as KARLOVARSKO win first-ever #CLVolleyM point

    In the final match of Pool E in Round 4 both Lokomotiv NOVOSIBIRSK and ČEZ KARLOVARSKO gave it their all. With nothing more at stake than the win, they fought tirelessly. The 2013 winners proved to be the more experienced team in the fifth and closed the tournament in Friedrichshafen on a positive note. For KARLOVARSKO this meant they won their first point ever in the CEV Champions League Volley. In their debut season they didn’t win a set, now they have secured their first point in a match. They do have three points from Tusday’s match against VfB FRIEDRICHSHAFEN, but that was the result of a forfeit from the German team due to Covid-19 cases within the team.

    • Marcel Lux was top scorer of the match for KARLOVARSKO, he managed to score 26

    • His teammate Daniel Rimal made 25

    • Iliyas Kurkaev was chosen as the MVP, he scored 3 blocks, 1 ace and hit 13 points in attack at 72% efficiency

    • Both teams have not qualified for the quarterfinals, only TRENTINO Itas will move on from Pool E

    • It was unfortunate that VfB FRIEDRICHSHAFEN couldn’t compete in their home tournament due to several positive Covid tests within the team. With two wins from the first tournament they would have had a good shot at reaching the final eight.
